  • Mac Cosmetics – List of Halal and Haram options!

Mac Cosmetics, whether you’re a makeup artist, a makeup enthusiast, or someone who wears makeup occasionally, you’ve definitely heard of Mac Cosmetics.

But, to buy or not to buy? Does it contain a nice little piglet or two? Maybe piglet’s friend cow is in with him?

Well if you’re a Mac lover you can heave a great sigh of relief because Mac ensures its customers that most of their products are plant based. The only ingredients that are animal based in their products are Beeswax, Lanolin, and Carmine.

Beeswax and Lanolin are both permissible for Muslim consumers, but Vegans may want to avoid these ingredients for personal reasons.

Carmine on the other hand is a debatable ingredient. In lip products this ingredient is definitely Haram due to the fact that you will end up consuming the product. On other areas of the face this product is debatable and up to your own discretion.

Unfortunately in every shade of lipstick, the ingredient list only states carmine as being a “May Contain” ingredient (depending on the shade of lipstick). Fortunately, the company will kindly tell you which lipsticks have and do not have carmine in them. I have emailed a number of companies, and I will tell you that Mac is one of the few companies that will tell you if a particular shade of lipstick has carmine. This makes Mac a great company for Muslim consumers. The only downside is that you have to wait for Mac to respond to your inquiry before you can go out and purchase your lipstick, and if you’re impatient like me, you’re really going to hate having to wait before you buy your desired product.

Just to help some of you sisters out, I have compiled a list of some of the Mac lipsticks/lip liners that DO NOT have carmine. Keep in mind that Mac has a huge assortment of lipstick shades, so if your lip product isn’t on the list, make sure to give them a call:

  • Brillo Pads Rumours

    Q. Do Brillo® Steel Wool Soap Pads contain animal products?
    A. Yes, the soap in Brillo® Steel Wool Soap Pads is made from natural beef tallow.

    http://www.brillo.com/faqs.asp

Brillo pads are permissible to use as the soap despite being sourced from beef tallow, is subject to a complete chemical metamorphosis thus rendering “the end product” pure.

    Please note:
The information in the question refers to the North American version of Brillo Pads. With reference to the UK version of Brillo soap pads, the UK subsidiary is currently investigating the source of the soap pads as they have several suppliers. • Ofsted Question Muslim Girls

Ofsted’s recommendation for inspectors to question Muslim primary school girls if they are wearing a hijab has been condemned as “kneejerk, discriminatory and institutionally racist” by more than 1,000 teachers, academics and faith leaders.

Amanda Spielman, the head of Ofsted and chief inspector of schools, said the move was to tackle situations in which wearing a hijab “could be interpreted as sexualisation” of girls as young as four or five, when most Islamic teaching requires headdress for girls only at the onset of puberty.

“While respecting parents’ choice to bring up their children according to their cultural norms, creating an environment where primary school children are expected to wear the hijab could be interpreted as sexualisation of young girls,” Spielman said.

The Muslim Council of Britain secretary-general, Harun Khan, responded to the move saying: “It is deeply worrying that Ofsted has announced it will be specifically targeting and quizzing young Muslim girls who choose to wear the headscarf.

“It sends a clear message to all British women who adopt this that they are second-class citizens, that while they are free to wear the headscarf, the establishment would prefer that they do not,” he said.

“The many British Muslims who choose to wear the headscarf have done extremely well in education and are breaking glass ceilings. It is disappointing that this is becoming policy without even engaging with a diverse set of mainstream Muslim voices on the topic,” he added.

  • Are Skittles Halal or Haram? 2018

This was because it contained E120 cochineal but recently has been removed. The Wrigley’s Website still lists E120 as an ingredient but it is no longer listed on a back of the packet and it says “Suitable for Vegetarians” : Skittles is a brand of fruit-flavoured sweets, currently produced and marketed by the Wm.7 May 2015
    So they are #HALAL now!

  • The Facts on Cannabis Oil to treat Cancer

The hype: Cannabis oil is often heralded as a treatment to destroy or shrink cancerous tumors, as well as a cure for diabetes, ulcers, arthritis, migraines, insomnia, infections, and many other diseases. Also called marijuana oil or hemp oil, it’s extracted from marijuana plants, often with higher proportion of a compound known as CBD (cannabidiol), which has less of a psychoactive effect than the more-famous THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) compound that gets marijuana users high.

Cannabis oil is available in several forms with different potencies. It can be infused into cooking oil that users squirt under the tongue or mix into food. Its vapors can also be inhaled. By federal law, cannabis products are illegal, though several states have enacted laws to legalize their medical use.

The evidence: While commercially available cannabis compounds are FDA-approved to reduce cancer treatment–related side effects such as nausea and vomiting and to improve appetite, no clinical trials have shown that cannabis products can treat cancer.

Claims that cannabis oil cures cancer are anecdotal and largely unsupportable, based on scant research done in mice and in labs. Side effects can include memory and attention loss. Perhaps most important, there is evidence that cannabis compounds may inhibit enzymes that patients need to metabolize other anticancer drugs, thereby increasing their toxicity or reducing their effectiveness.

The verdict: “So far, there are no human studies that show cannabis oil can be used as cancer treatment,” Dr. Yeung says. “Patients who are using it — or any form of marijuana — should let their doctors know so they can advise you properly.”

  • Is RedBull Haram?

Here is what reply I got from Red Bull UK:

“Thanks for getting in touch about this.

I can 100% confirm that Red Bull contains no animal derivatives and that all ingredients are synthetically produced and are not extracted from any animal source (so the bull’s urine myth is completely untrue!)

Taurine is a conditionally essential amino acid, which naturally occurs in the body of all mammals (including humans.) However, the Taurine that is contained in Red Bull is synthetically produced and contains no animal extracts or derivatives, therefore it is suitable for consumption by
vegetarians and vegans as well as being certified as Halal and Kosher by the relevant federations.

The wikipedia information relates to Taurine in general and the majority of the information (particularly about where it comes from) does not apply to the Taurine in Red Bull.

    Best regards
    Red Bull UK”

Place the washed lemon in the freezer.
Once frozen, get your grater, & shred the whole lemon (no need to peel it) and sprinkle it on your foods!
On vegetables, salad, ice cream, soup, cereals, noodles, spaghetti sauce,
rice, sushi, fish dishes, … the list is endless.

All the foods will get an unexpected wonderful taste!

    Not anymore!

What’s the major advantage of using the whole lemon other than preventing waste & adding new taste to your dishes?

Lemon peels contain as much as 5 to 10 times more vitamins than the lemon juice itself & that’s what you’ve been wasting!

Lemon peels are health rejuvenators in eradicating toxic
    elements in the body.

The surprising benefits of lemon is the miraculous ability to kill cancer cells! It is 10,000 times stronger
    than chemotherapy!!

Why do we not know about that?
Because there are laboratories interested in making a synthetic version that will bring them huge profits.

You can now help a friend in need by letting him/her know that lemon juice is beneficial in preventing the disease.
Its taste is pleasant and it does not produce the horrific
    effects of chemotherapy.

How many people will die while this closely guarded secret is kept, so as not to jeopardize the multimillionaires large corporations?

It is considered also as an anti microbial spectrum against bacterial infections and fungi, effective against internal parasites and worms,
    it regulates blood pressure
& an antidepressant, combats stress & nervous disorders.

The source of this information is fascinating: it comes from one of the largest drug
manufacturers in the world, says that after more than 20 laboratory tests since 1970,the extracts revealed that It destroys the malignant cells in 12 cancers, including colon, breast, prostate, lung & pancreas…

The compounds of this tree showed 10,000 times better effect than the product Adriamycin, a drug normally used chemotherapeutic in the world, slowing the growth of cancer cells.
And what is even more astonishing: this type of therapy with lemon extract only destroys malignant cancer cells and it does not affect healthy cells. .
